Last week, over 500 Indiana fans showed up to welcome the team back to town after two victories in Portland. This weekend was no different, except that a loss to Kentucky meant the 2011-12 season was now complete.
This IU team deserved all the praise and support from the fans. They had one heck of a season, and one that created so many memories for all who followed this group so closely.
Because I was still driving back from Atlanta, below is a video (thanks to IU Athletics) of the rally and the team speaking to the assembled fans outside Cook Hall.
One of the most telling statements — from sophomore Will Sheehey: “We’re not happy with the Sweet 16 and you fans shouldn’t be either. You should expect more from us than that, and that’s why you guys are the great fans that you are.”
