Winless no more! Colts beat Titans 27-13

The streak has finally come to an end. At home against the Tennessee Titans (7-7), a divisional opponent, the Indianapolis Colts (1-13) finally won their first game of the 2011-12 season. Whew!

Dan Orlovsky hit Reggie Wayne with a tremendous over-the-shoulder pass for their first offensive touchdown. Adam Vinatieri added two field goals, (47, 40) and Jacob Lacey scored on a pick-six from 32-yards. Tailback Donald Brown sealed the 27-13 win with a 80-yard run.

Unfamiliar lead
When Adam Vinatieri nailed a 47-yard field goal in the first quarter, the Colts took their first lead in a game since week 5 on October 9th. That’s how unproductive Indy’s offense has been.

The Colts brass repeat each week ad nauseum that this team is built to play with a lead. With a lead against the Titans, the Colts defense recovered a fumble and picked off Matt Hasselbeck twice.

Perfection no more
After 13 straight losses, the Colts finally have a victory. It’s very ironic that just two years ago, the Colts pulled their starters and passed on an undefeated season. It’s just one win but I wouldn’t wish an 0-16 season on my worst enemy. And it’s nice to see for the veteran players that have put so much into the this team.

Colts quarterback Dan Orlovsky and linebacker Ernie Sims were apart of the 0-16 Detroit Lions in 2008. Those two guys will be the happiest in the locker room.

Tired leg?
Pat McAfee will be hitting the ice-bath hard after this afternoon’s game. McAfee kicked off five times, and punted a total of seven times (if you include the back-to-back-to-back punts that were called back due to penalties).

An unhappy Bill Polian
At halftime in the press box, the Colts Vice-Chairman was heated and angrily talking on the phone. Not sure what it was about but I have to believe it had something to do about the reports on Manning. All I heard Polian say was, “speculation!”
