‘Zakk and Jack Show’ dropped from Fox Sports Radio

Remember new IU football coach Kevin Wilson’s radio feud on the Zakk and Jack Show? Where Wilson was brought on as a guest and treated like a joke? Where the hosts made a mockery of Indiana football with the head coach on the phone, then dropped his line and continued to bashed him?

They’re gone.

The Zakk and Jack Show on Fox Sports Radio was cancelled in late-December. It didn’t even last two years. And most sports talk listeners, including myself, had never heard of the show until this classless interview. They requested Coach Wilson.

And its Kevin Wilson who gets the last laugh, although he has more important things to worry about.

The show was co-hosted by Dominic Zaccagnini and Jack Trudeau, the former Illinois and NFL quarterback. It was syndicated nationally from the WNDE studios in Indianapolis.

Their show has since been replaced by “FOX Sports Daybreak” featuring Andy Furman and Artrell Hawkins (a former NFL defensive back) weekdays from 6-9 a.m.

Yes, the last laugh goes to the 1-11 head coach. The same head coach that lost the #1 QB recruit in the nation.

Well played. That “interview” with Wilson couldn’t have been more unprofessional; Zakk and Jack sounded bush league during it and after it.

Zakk and Jack were very entertaining. I even listened to their re-runs in the afternoon. The two new guys are BORING!!!

I agree they were better than the new guys. Furman is an idiot and he cant really believe some of the stuff he says on the air! Not to mention it was Wilson who acted like a douchebag on the air. Trudeau was just making comments about IU football when he played decades ago and those comments were all FACTS not just his opinion. Fox has lost a listener in the mornings.

I never heard the interview in referenced in this article, but I heard this terrible, terrible excuse for a radio show. It was on right before one of our local sports talk radio shows in Omaha and I would always catch the end of this garbage program. I was so happy to hear that their show was cancelled and I would never have to hear Zakks shrill old woman voice on the radio anymore. Nice move Fox!

Zakk and Jack were smart, edgy and entertaining. I don’t listen to the new guys who are annoying and boring.

Can’t believe that they lasted until December. I knew that show was over as soon as Jack finished crying like a school girl after the Wilson interview. What’s even worse is that he had his wife call into a sports station defending him (pathetic!). I can say that I will not miss Jack talking about his playing days – as if he wasn’t ever anything more than an INT machine.

And Zakk (aka Zakk Tyler, HAHAHA – look it up)…. Whose idea was it to give a show to someone who sounds like Peter Brady going thru puberty? These guys were a joke and a little to full of themselves. I can name at least 15 guys in the NY, Boston, Philly or DC markets that would have a been a better choice on FSR.

^ Couldn’t agree more. These new guys blow. What an unfunny piece of crap Fox picked up.

I liked the show. And it was Wilson who was on the defensive the whole time acting like the interview was interrupting his all important day.

Artrell is tolerable but Andy Furman is a joke. He knows nothing about sports. In an interview earlier this week for the Super Bowl they had Marv Levy on. One of the classiest, well spoken coaches ever. He had written a new book and they talked to him about it. Then after they signed off with him Furman completely insulted him by saying, “I bet if you asked him who the Bills lost to in each Super Bowl he couldn’t tell you.”. Really Andy? He’s a typical New York idiot. I won’t listen to that pathetic excuse for a show any more.

I miss these guys. I really enjoyed Jack’s take on all things sports. I also heard the Wilson interview and thought coach was way out of line. What no other call in show has ever had a controversial interview?
The new guys extremely boring. You lost a listener Fox Sports.

I loved Zakk and Jack in the morning – the new show is horrible – Furman talks too loud for 6:00 in the morning and is an idiot – he tells grown men how cute they are – who found this guy – he’s points are dumb – then you’ve got the hawk who fights with him – why – this is bush league j- I’m a girl and I cant tell you how many times I wanted to call in because the shows were so bad!!!!!!!!

If you would’ve told me that FSR in the morning could get worse than Zakk and Jack, I wouldn’t have believed you 6 months ago. But once again, FSR has proved that it’s possible to go from bad to worse. Furman and GRRR-trell are terrible. Never thought I’d go back to Mike&Mike, but have been forced to recently. How can a radio company consistently downgrade it’s talent with each consecutive move. From Czabe to SAS to Z&J to Furman, it just keeps getting worse. Do the executives actually listen to the prorams they put on? I think not.

Amen Gatsby – I change the station even when Furman has a spot announcing his show. He’s an idiot. FSN had me listening to five shows a day 3 years ago. Now I only listen to Dan Patrick and Petros and Money. Who the hell thinks Furman and Mike North have voices made for radio?
