Super Bowl XLV underway in North Texas

After two weeks of waiting, Super Bowl North Texas style is underway. Two historic ball clubs, Green Bay and Pittsburgh. Coaches Mike McCarthy and Mike Tomlin.

This was suppose to be Indianapolis’ Super Bowl. But Jerry built a stadium that cost well over one billion dollars to steal it away. Usually things are “bigger in Texas,” but this week, they have been troubling.

Ice storms, cold temperatures, no salt, no salt trucks, stadium not ready, over priced tickets, and at least 400 fans unable to attend the game.

It was one of the worst winter storms to hit Texas in the last twenty years.

Many parties, dedications and events planned for years were canceled. In Indianapolis, people can go almost anywhere indoors with the connected garages and the convention center.

This stuff won’t happen in Indianapolis. Hoosiers will be hospitable and prepared for anything to take place. Jerry’s World hasn’t been quite pleasing to most.

I look forward to a quality game and solid commercials. For a complete rundown of the commercials, click here.

For the 14th straight year, the NFC has won the toss and Green Bay defers to the second half.

Green Bay is looking to win their first Super Bowl following the Brett Favre era. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been terrific for the Packers and will be critical for a win tonight.

Pittsburgh is looking to win their third big game in six years. An impressive feat. The Steelers play smash mouth football and look to dominate on defense. With Troy Polamalu leading the defense, the Steelers hope to stop Rodgers and the Green Bay offense from the outset.

Nerves are a part of the game. But whoever can contain their mistakes and not turn it over will have the best chance to lead when the clock strikes :00.

I like for other teams to have success and both of these teams have had plenty. Because of Pittsburgh’s recent success and Green Bay’s recovery with Rodgers at the helm, I’m taking the Packers 23-20.

Below is a video of a Colts fan who was attending his fourth Super Bowl. He paid $3,500 for his ticket, waited over four hours in security line and didn’t have a seat for the game. Fail.
